6 kids have excelled in their Primary leaving examinations from different Districts of Uganda and all these passed in division one which is the highest of the Ugandan grading system. We are happy have to have provided for the children through our wonderful donors and well-wishers to see that these children get a better life.
Alinaitwe Moses 14, Atuhaire Ronald 15, Anena Christine 13, Opio Christopher 16, Wambi Patrick 14, Tumushabe kenneth are some of the boys who finished primary level this year under the support of sapphire foundation in different districts of Uganda.
Uganda and Education alike have been disrupted by Covid 19 a season which has been difficult not only in movement but other aspects like Transport but our Children have made it through. The nation-wide lockdown has left approximately 15 million children out of school. In the age of COVID-19, distance learning has become synonymous with technology, but there are massive gaps in access to technology among urban and rural areas in Uganda because many families struggle to get food and basic needs like electricity.
Electricity is critically important in the age of the pandemic, as electricity is needed to power the technologies used for remote learning. This digital divide will have a larger impact in rural areas which will contribute to economic and educational inequality. And therefore internet is not accessible at all where electricity is still a probem with many people having issues with just powering their gadgets like mobile phones
Sapphire Foundation has been helping a number of children through primary education by providing food, Scolatic marterials, clothes, Uniform, sanitary pads and the bigger need of school fees. But as they advance with education at different levels its gets more expensive for the organization to help the big number of children we have and sometimes kids are forced to drop out of school. We need support from donors and well wishers to make sure we sustain the education for these little young men and women even beyond primary schools.
