Crowell Public Library

Crowell Public Library is located in the heart of San Marino next door to Huntington Middle School and Valentine Elementary. The San Marino Public Library Foundation, which strives to “improve the quality of library and information services to the citizens of San Marino”, conducted the capital campaign which raised over $10 million to help build the current Crowell Public Library in 2008. Featuring a bright modern design, Crowell Library represents a vibrant public space that educates and enriches the local community young and old alike.

There’s a term that describes a setting for healthy social engagement, separate from Home or Work, known as a “Third Space”. Libraries fulfill this role by sharing their repository of books and other media with neighbors as well as offering classes or workshops in a variety of disciplines. Public spaces free from corporate interests can provide a welcoming environment for people to study, learn, and grow. The Sapphire Foundation is proud to be a a contributing partner of the San Marino Public Library Foundation and other like-minded stewards of professional development.

K.L. Carver Elementary 2024 Spring Carnival

K.L. Carver Elementary hosted their annual Spring Carnival bringing together the community while raising funds for their students at the school. These contributions help make the Arts, Music, STEM Lab, Innovation Lab, Health and Safety, Community Outreach, and Family Educational programs possible. The Sapphire Foundation is a proud sponsor of a game booth at this year’s event, the Luau Launch where participants tested their strength and aiming skills. The booth, run by both parent and high school volunteers from 10 am to 3 pm, brought great joy and friendly competition to its participants. The Sapphire Foundation is grateful for the opportunity to support Carver Elementary and their students as a California Distinguished School and a National Blue Ribbon Award recipient.

Los Angeles Arboretum Foundation

The Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden is a unique 127-acre botanical garden and historical site located in what was the heart of the historic Rancho Santa Anita in the city of Arcadia. Over 600,000 visitors a year enjoy its lush landscapes, breath-taking botanical diversity, beautifully designed walking spaces, and carefully maintained landmarks. Visitors can also participate in regularly held workshops and community events that help invigorate the body and mind.

Sapphire Foundation is proud to be benefactors to an organization which represents a stage, classroom, and steward of the vibrant outdoors. We are blessed to reside in an environment where people, plants, and animals can flourish together and The Los Angeles County Arboretum promotes this appreciation to their surrounding community. Our recent contribution to their General Fund helps subsidize admissions to schools and families from underserved neighborhoods so that we may share these gifts and ensure that future generations will continue to cherish the natural world.

The Sapphire Foundation is excited to announce its continued strong partnership with the Hwarang Youth Foundation, a non-profit established by Howard Park to serve and address some of the most pressing issues of our society with a strong focus on developing and mentoring students to become effective, powerful, and active leaders of their respective communities.  Founded in 2006, the Hwarang Youth Foundation has achieved remarkable worldwide success over the years as evidenced by its 6,000 members across approximately 35 distinct Hwarang chapters.

With our shared purpose and values, the Sapphire Foundation has instructed the Hwarang Youth Foundation to earmark Sapphire’s 2023 donation towards education in 2024 to ultimately support some, if not the most, deserving inspirational young leaders of our future.  We at the Sapphire Foundation are truly honored to be a part of such a great cause and cannot wait to learn more about the lasting impact of this donation.
